Long Course Training
Why Should I do The Long Course?

  • Gain the extra advantage that all athletes are looking for when preparing in
the off-season for their upcoming club and high school seasons.
  • Challenging training to get you ready to be in the best possible swimming
    shape in the off-season.
  • VERY INEXPENSIVE!! $550 until 4/1/2011 for 90 hours (ONLY $6 per hour!!!)
of focused training AND great coaching, NOW THAT'S WHERE REAL VALUE
    IS.
  • THE ONLY TRUE LONG COURSE TRAINING IN SUSSEX COUNTY (50m
    pool)

What are the differences between Long and Short course
training
?

  • Long course (50M) training provides the athlete three (3) unique
opportunities that short course (25M/Y) training do not:

               1. Athletes have more active time (approximately 3 times
as much) between walls to fine tune and develop muscle
memory in their strokes for mastery.

               2. Athletes gain more endurance due to the fact that they
cannot stop and start every 25m.

               3. Athletes gain a distinct MENTAL ADVANTAGE when they
return back to short course during their fall/winter
                   competition season.

Am I eligible to participate in the Camp?

  • We welcome all swimmers that are incoming 6th grade  students
         (2011-2012 school year) and older.
  • Younger swimmers (4th and 5th graders) need to contact
Coach Dave directly for an evaluation.
  • Swimmers will be grouped by ability (approximately 10-15
athletes per lane…that is comparable to 5 per lane in a 25yard pool!)
  • If you are unsure, contact Coach Leshnower at: leshswim@gmail.com
When does the Long Course Camp start?

  • June 20 through August 19, 2011 (9 weeks RAIN OR SHINE)
  • Daily training sessions run Monday to Friday from 7:00am until 9:00 am.
  • Arrival @ Pool 15 min early for our daily Active Warm-up session that will
help ensure a proper warm for better training performance.

Will I get technical instruction along with great training?

  • YES. Stroke sound fundamental stroke technique is the basis for
continued improvement. Our Staff believes in building a strong technical
    base to train off of.
  • Video Analysis will be used daily to help you unlock the keys to better,
    faster swimming.

Do I need to go every day?

  • Repetition, Repetition, Repetition...is the key to success in any endeavor.
The more consistent you are with YOUR training, the better YOUR results
    will be during YOUR season.
  • Consistency in training is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.
  • Athletes WILL NOT BE PENALIZED for missed training sessions, but
ARE ENCOURAGED to attend ALL TRAINING SESSIONS for optimal
    results

Are any "make-up" dates available for missed training days
or inclement weather?

  • No. "Rain" is in TRAIN.
