The Cruiser Club Swim & Tennis Club is an ideal place to spend your summer. Come enjoy the pool & tennis courts as well as the many
outdoor activities in our large open field. Or if you prefer, grab a lounge in the shade and enjoy a good book. The choice is yours.
We feature a family friendly atmosphere where parents can feel at ease that their children will be safe. The pool is protected at all times by Red
Cross Certified Lifeguards that have been trained in CPR and other emergency procedures. The Cruiser Club has a long history of encouraging
children and adults of all ages to learn to swim. We have a number of Water Safety Instructors on staff that run group swim lessons throughout
the summer. If you prefer private swim lessons, they are also available. Our goal is for all members to know how to swim to ensure a safer club.
Our Kids Club, run by our young adults, offers your children a variety of exciting games including soccer, kickball, spud, basketball knockout,
dodge ball, ping pong and other fun filled activities such as arts & crafts and face painting. Our goal is to keep your children active and give
parents a break. My children spent their summers at the Cruiser Club. I know firsthand what a wonderful experience that it’s always been and will
continue to be. The atmosphere and socialization is what makes it a great place for all ages.
One of cornerstones of the Cruiser Club is the swim team. We are fortunate to have Dave Leshnower, one of the finest Swim Coaches in the
State of New Jersey. It’s not because of Dave’s many Championships at Mountain Lakes High School that gives him his reputation but the
passion that he brings to his profession every single day. Dave and his highly competent staff are focused on the individual athlete’s journey to
attaining their goals. This approach has revived The Cruiser Club Swim Team back to the glory days.
Our Tennis Director, Anne Lyons has done a wonderful job reorganizing the Cruiser Club and Lakeside Tennis programs. Anne organized age
group programs starting at age 6 with clever names like “Grip ‘N Rip”, “Baseline Basics” and “Got Net”. These programs are held at the Cruiser
Club Hard Courts and run by Assistant Director of Junior Tennis, Lauren Lyons. Lakeside Tennis Club (clay courts) presented an even bigger
challenge. With dwindling membership, Anne was able to convince members to return to refurbished courts and meticulous daily maintenance.
Anne organized group lessons, socials and tournaments. The High School Training Program was particularly successful and drew some of the
best young players in the area. With rave reviews, expectations are high for the 2011 season.
The Snack Bar or “Snack Shack” is another important component of the Cruiser Club experience. We are fortunate to have Director of Food
Service George Hoffmann’s culinary creativity to offer delectable summertime treats. We look forward to an expanding menu of specials during
2011 season.
