New
for 2009: Swim Team Only Memberships! The Cruiser Club Swim Team is EXTREMELY pleased to welcome back our Head Coach Dave Leshnower! What a GREAT 2008 season...The records speak for themselves! Our best season in years and 2009 has the Cruiser Club favored to be big winners in the league in '09!
Dave comes to us with a plethora of experience and is one of the most respected swimming coaches in the state! His years of experience and accomplishments with Lakeland Hills YMCA, Mountain Lakes High School and the Mountain Lakes summer age group Team are truly incredible: Dave has been the Head Coach of the Mountain Lakes High School men’s and women’s swim teams for 15 seasons. The men’s team has won 5 NJ Public B State Titles, and 7 county championships. In 2007, the men’s team set the NJ State Record for the most consecutive relay championships with nine. Dave was named 2007 Star-Ledger State and NFHS Regional Coach of the Year. The women’s team has been to the NJ State Playoffs 13 of 15 seasons winning 8 sectional titles (NJ State Final 4 eight times and runner’s up 4 times) to go along with 6 county titles as well. Dave’s high school teams have also boasted 13 high school All-Americans during his tenure. Dave also coaches age group swimming at Lakeland Hills YMCA and has been an integral part of their tremendous success for the past 15 years. Dave’s intense love for the sport of swimming can be seen through his enthusiasm on the pool deck and in his educational approach toward the development of young athletes. Dave’s coaching experience at LHY has ranged from Stroke Clinic through Age Group 2, and Junior through Senior 2. He currently coaches the swimmers in Age Groups 2 & 4. Also of note, Dave has developed a very successful summer age group swim program in Mountain Lakes for the past 10 years that embodies his philosophies and family approach to youth sports. "The world of sports reveals many heroes. So does every day life. It takes courage to grow up and reach your full potential." Thank-you for helping us welcome Coach Dave and his family!
